Welcome to CSC150 Lab 1

This is the first of two Microsoft Excel labs. You will be creating a simple grade book for this course. Please follow these directions:
1. Open Microsoft Excel.
2. In the cell A1, place the title: name.
3. Beginning in the first column, second row, insert 3 names (starting with your own).
4. As above place the title: test 1 in cell B1 and continue with titles test 2 and three in columns C and D respectively.
5. Enter grades for all three students for the three exams.
6. In cell E1 enter the title quiz.
7. Enter a quiz grade for all 3 students.
8. In cell F1 enter the title paper.
9. Enter a grade for the paper for all 3 students.
10. In cell G1 enter the title Course Grade.
11. In the first row after the names in the name column, place the title weights.
12. In that row (it should be row 5), enter the weight 0.6 in cell B5 (the weight for the exams), the weight 0.1 in cell E5 (the weight for the quiz), and the weight 0.3 in cell F5 (the weight for the paper).
13. In cell G2 compute the weighted average for the first student using relative cell references for the grades and absolute cell references for the weights as was done in class. Copy the formula to cells G3 and G4 by dragging the corner of the cell down.
You will save this file on your directory on MOSES. You'll find this by double clicking the USERS1 on MOSES icon on the desktop. Then navigate to USERS1/USERS/username/. Save the file to your network folder under the filename type whuddell_1s1.xls (ie. If your name is Gordon Foobar and you are in section 2, save the file as gfoobar_1s2.xls - 1s2 refers to lab1 secion 2).
